LOVE - HEALING - KNOWLEDGE - CONNECTION

About
I am a Twin Cities–based artist and designer, born in St. Paul on the unceded lands of the Dakota and Anishinaabe peoples. I've been a freelance artist for ten years and my artistic disciplines cover installation art, illustration, graphic design, photography, glyph-making, woodworking, painting, and writing. My work weaves together and embodies themes of nature—from the micro to the cosmic—with layers of identity exploration, Black and collective liberation, ancestral healing, time, portals, geometry, and symbols. Water is an essential element of my practice. It shapes the purpose of my work and is a recurring theme that flows through my art as well as my collaborations with community.
As an artist, my joy comes from creating spaces to help community ask questions and tell stories that invite reflection, presence, affirmations, and transformation. Whether indoors or in nature, I use my multidisciplinary approach to open channels of connection, curiosity, and healing to help remind us that we are not apart from nature, but a part of nature. By gathering people in intentional ways, I aim to strengthen our relationships with our core truths and with each other, curating space to share dreams and move toward them together. Through art, I work to cultivate collective thriving, grounded in the understanding that our well-being and health are inseparable from, and intrinsically woven into, the health of our environment.
I am currently a member of the Studio Thalo artist collective and was a member of the Million Artist Movement and the Creatives After Curfew Mural Collective. I am also father and I love including my kids on art projects whenever I get a chance as they are both amazingly creative individuals.
